Lady Raiders Trek to West Virginia for Wednesday Night Matchup:

MORGANTOWN, W.V. – The Texas Tech Lady Raiders return to action Wednesday night at West Virginia. Tip-off from the West Virginia Coliseum is set for 6 p.m. (CT).
Wednesday's matchup is the first of two contests this week for Tech, as the Lady Raiders host No. 25 Kansas State Saturday night at United Supermarkets Arena.

WVU enters Wednesday's matchup with a record of 7-5 overall and 0-2 in Big 12 play. The Mountaineers have started 0-2 in Big 12 play for the first time since 2018-19. Junior guard KK Deans and forward Esmery Martinez are the lone two WVU players that are scoring in double-figures. Deans is averaging a team-best 15.2 points per game. Deans is also shooting an impressive 44-of-50 from the free throw line and has 21 steals and 51 assists in 12 games. Esmery Martinez is averaging 11.4 points and 8.1 rebounds a game. After starting the season 5-0, the Mountaineers have now lost five of seven games to BYU, Kentucky, South Florida, Iowa State and Kansas State (all ranked or were ranked at the time they played them). The Mountaineers were tabbed 13th overall in the first AP poll of the season and were picked 19th in the first coaches poll of the season. WVU was picked fourth in the Big 12 Preseason Poll, while Esmery Martinez was selected to the Preseason All-Big 12 team. Deans and Kari Niblack were Honorable Mention All-Big 12 selections.
