After 36 holes, Tech sits at -1 overall, nine shots off the lead
FORT WORTH -- Powered by another strong 36 holes from Ludvig Aberg and Calum Scott, the No. 6 overall Texas Tech men's golf program sits in fifth place overall (-1) after Day One of the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invite hosted by TCU at Colonial Country Club.

The duo of Aberg and Scott finished the 36 holes a combined seven under par. The top ranked amateur player in the world and the defending Hogan Award winner, Aberg answered an opening round 69 with a second round 67. Aberg is one of four players tied for third place at four-under par.

Tech's second player under par, Scott, continued his torrid start to the 2022-23 season by firing rounds of 68 and 69. Looking to record his third top-10 finish in as many events (Scott finished seventh at Frederica and second at Inverness), the Scottish born player sits in a three-way tie for seventh overall.

Bartley Forrester of Georgia Tech enjoys the solo lead after one day of action. Forrester fired a second round 65 to sit at -6 overall.

Stanford's Michael Thorborjn compiled an opening round 69 and a second round 66 to end Monday's action at -5 overall (solo second).

North Carolina turned in a second-round team score of 272 (-8) and is -10 overall to enjoy the lead after day one. Stanford (-6) sits four shots back followed by Arizona State (-3) and Pepperdine (-2).

The Red Raiders are in solo fifth at -1 overall, followed by Oklahoma State (+3).

No. 1 Vanderbilt and Texas are tied for seventh one shot back (+4) of OSU while Wake Forest sits in ninth at +7 overall.
