Aberg takes lead at The Prestige

LA QUINTA, California – Texas Tech junior Ludvig Aberg shot 2-under-par to move into the lead at The Prestige on Tuesday at the Greg Norman Course at PGA WEST. Aberg earned co-champion honors last season at The Prestige with a three-way tie at 4-under-par for the individual title.
Aberg started the tournament by shooting even-par on Monday before making six birdies on Tuesday and finishing at 2-under. He will go into the final round at 2-under and was in the lead with the afternoon flight beginning their second round. A Sweden native, Aberg is at No. 3 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking will be looking to win his third collegiate tournament of his career.Â
Kyle Hogan is at 8-over after posting a 74 on Tuesday following a 76 in his first round. A senior from Cypress, Hogan birdied four holes in the second round but also had five bogeys and a double. He was in 54th after his round. Calum Scott and Baard Skogen are both at 11-over going into Wednesday, while Garrett Martin is at 12-over. Skogen, who is ranked No. 8 in the Golfweek individual ratings after finishing as the runner up at the Amer Ari to begin the spring season, shot a 79 on Tuesday following a 74 on Monday.
The Red Raiders were in the clubhouse on Tuesday at 25-over through two days which had them in 12th but also the top team to have completed their round. The afternoon flight began after their round was completed. For results that will be completed tonight go to Golfstat.com.
