Red Raiders in contention at Cabo Collegiate

CABO SAN LUCAS, Mexico – Texas Tech junior Ludvig Aberg shot 6-under-par at the Cabo Collegiate on Tuesday to lead the No. 6 Red Raiders who will go into the final round just 10 strokes back of the lead at the Cabo del Sol – Cove Club Course.
Tech is currently in eighth place at 8-under as a team, while No. 41 Florida State and No. 3 Oklahoma State lead the tournament at 18-under. The Red Raiders have opened the tournament with a card of 281-279 – 560 going into Tuesday's final round.
Tech freshman Calum Scott is at 2-under (70-70) which has him in 27th, followed by sophomore Baard Skogen who is 1-under(68-73) and Andy Lopez at even-pr (69-73) through two rounds.
Aberg responded from an opening round of 74 during Sunday's opening round to fire a 65 on Tuesday with six birdies and an eagle. He is coming off winning The Prestige last week for his third collegiate victory and goes into the final round at 3-under which puts him tied for 20th on the leaderboard.
Arizona's Chase Sienkiewicz leads the tournament at 10-under after shooting 66-66 to begin the event, while Mateo Fernandez De Oliveria (Arkansas) and Gordon Sargent (Vanderbilt) are at 8-under. Aberg's 65 was matched by Cole Sherwood (Vanderbilt) for the low-round of the tournament through two days.
The Red Raiders will follow this week's event in Mexico with a couple of weeks off before returning to competition at the Valspar Collegiate from March 28-29 in Palm City, Florida before playing in the Aggie Invitational (April 9-10) in College Station and Thunderbird Collegiate from April 15-16 in Phoenix. The Big 12 Championship is scheduled for April 25-27 in Trinity, Texas which will lead into the NCAA Tournament.
