Vivian Gray named WBCA Region-3 All-America Finalist

The WBCA will now trim the over 50 finalists to one 10-person team and 20 honorable mention selections
ATLANTA – Texas Tech senior All-American Vivian Gray has been selected as a WBCA Regional Finalist for All-America status, the WBCA announced Thursday.
Gray was one of eight players chosen to the "Region-3" team joining Diamon Battles (UCF), Kierstan Bell (FGCU), Mia Davis (Temple), Jasmine Dickey (Delaware), Rori Harmon (Texas), Ashley Joens (Iowa State), Ayoka Lee (Kansas State), NaLyssa Smith (Baylor) and Madi Williams (Oklahoma).
The list of over 50 finalists will be trimmed down to one 10-person All-America team that will be announced next Thursday (March 31). The WBCA will also selection 20 "honorable mention" selections.
A native of Argyle, Gray will be looking to record her second consecutive All-American honor, as the senior was dubbed an honorable mention selection by the WBCA a season ago.
Gray was selected to the All-Big 12 First Team earlier in March for the fourth time in her career, becoming just the fourth player in Big 12 history to earn four First Team All-Big 12 selections. Gray joined
Courtney Paris (Oklahoma, 2006-09), Brittney Griner (Baylor, 2009-2013) and Oddsey Sims (Baylor 2010-14).
The senior became just the third Lady Raider all-time to earn multiple First Team All-Big 12 selections, joining Erin Grant and Alicia Thompson.
Gray averaged a team-best 20.2 points and 5.3 rebounds this season. The forward also had 51 assists, 45 steals and 25 blocks.
