Tech women to open B12 Championship vs. OSU

Texas Tech earned the No. 6 seed and will face the third-seeded Cowgirls Friday
IRVING, Texas – The Texas Tech women's tennis program has earned the sixth-overall seed for this week's Big 12 Championships hosted by TCU at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center.
Tech will open the championships Friday afternoon at Noon vs. No. 3 Oklahoma State.
Texas Tech (14-9, 4-5 Big 12) finished in a three-way tie for fifth place with No. 5 Kansas and No. 7 Iowa State. The Lady Raiders earned the No. 6 seed by virtue of finishing ahead of the Cyclones in the latest ITA Rankings which will be released on Wednesday.
The Lady Raiders and Cowgirls met back on Apr. 2 in Lubbock. OSU overcame an early deficit to earn a 4-2 overall victory.
If victorious, Tech would meet the winner of No. 2 Texas and Iowa State/WVU on Saturday. First serve is set for Noon.
The Cyclones and Mountaineers will open the Big 12 Championships on Thursday at 10 a.m.
Oklahoma has earned the No. 1 overall seed and will open with the winner of TCU and Kansas State. Baylor and Kansas have earned the four and five seeds respectively and will clash at 9 a.m. on Friday.
