Nine tennis players earn All-Big 12 Academic Honors

Four Red Raiders and five Lady Raiders were honored
IRVING, Texas – Nine Texas Tech tennis players were among the over 60 student-athletes that received All-Big 12 Academic honors, the Big 12 Conference announced Wednesday.
Seniors Francisco Vittar and Illgiz Valiev highlighted Tech's four men's tennis players selected, while Margarita Skriabina and Metka Komac highlighted the five Lady Raider selections.
In order to be selected, first team honorees needed to maintain at least a 3.20 GPA, while second team selections maintained between a 3.0 and 3.19 GPA.
Valiev and Vittar were joined on the first team by Franco Ribero and Dimitrios Azoidis, while Komac and Skribaina were joined on the first team by Olivia Peet. Metka Komac and Bojana Marinkov were named to the second team.
For Valiev the honor was the fourth of his storied Tech career, while Vittar earned his second All-Big 12 Academic honor. Peet and
Marinkov also earned their second All-Academic honors.
