Blackburn gets U.S. U20 training camp invite

Blackburn saw action in 19 of 20 games for Tech
CHICAGO – Macy Blackburn will join the U.S. Under-20 Women's Youth National Team this summer for a pair of games all while participating in training camp for a roster spot on the U20 World Cup team.
Costa Rica will play host to the 2022 FIFA Under-20 Women's World Cup this August. The U-20 WYNT will get together from May 11-19 over at the Elite Athlete Training Center in Chula Vista Calif., and face Costa Rica in two friendly matches happening on May 15 and 18 – closed door scrimmages.
Blackburn is one of eight players receiving their first U20 call-up as the camp roster is comprised of 14 collegiate players and eight youth club players.
In her first season with Texas Tech in 2021, Blackburn was dubbed a Big 12 All-Freshman member after starting in all 19 games she played in. The Keller, Texas native led Tech in assists with nine –10th highest in the NCAA – adding one goal.
The defender was also named a United Soccer Coaches Midwest All-Region player and to the All-Freshman Team by TopDrawerSoccer.com.
