LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech women's tennis head coach, Adam Herendeen, has announced the hiring of Dani Nasser as assistant coach on Tuesday morning.
"We are thrilled to have Dani joining our team here at Texas Tech," Herendeen said. "She was the first name that came to mind as I started the search process. Everyone who knows her, or has worked with her, knows that she is going to have a huge impact on our team and our team culture from day one. We have a lot of work to do and we are excited to get started!"
Nasser comes to Lubbock after serving as the assistant coach for the women's tennis team at Gonzaga this past season. There, she coached an All-WCC Honorable Mention singles player, two All-Academic WCC Team members and eight ITA Scholar-Athletes.
Prior to her stint at Gonzaga, Nasser was the volunteer assistant coach for the Notre Dame women's tennis team from 2019-21, helping lead the Irish to 22 wins over the course of two seasons and coaching two doubles teams in the NCAA Individual Tournament.
"I am extremely grateful and humbled to be a Red Raider and work alongside Coach Herendeen," Nasser said. "His accolades as a coach speak volumes to his ability to develop and cultivate a successful program. I am excited to join the coaching staff in developing fearless champions and empowering young women. Texas Tech is a special place, and I cannot wait to join Coach Herendeen and continue to build on the program's rich tradition of excellence!"
Nasser was a student-athlete at the University of Oregon from 2015-19. While at Oregon, she collected an impressive 63 career singles victories, which is good for a top-10 spot among Oregon's all-time wins leaders.
A two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete (2016-17) and Pac-12 All-Academic First Team member (2017-18), Nasser also aided the Ducks to a couple of NCAA Tournaments during her time at Oregon.
A native of Tampa, Fla., Nasser graduated from the University of Oregon in 2019 with a degree in Business Administration.
