The Tech signee was named a nominee for the 2023 game
CHICAGO – Texas Tech Lady Raider signee Loghan Johnson has been named to the initial McDonalds All-America Game nominee list, the McDonalds All-America committee announced Wednesday.
A native of Houston, Johnson rates as consensus four-star product and was included in ESPNWs' Top-100 prospects in the 2023 class.
Johnson plays for Ryan Bickham at Houston Christian Academy.
The TABC Large Private School Player of the Year and a Southwest Prep Conference First Team selection, Johnson averaged 19.2 points a game in 2021-22, leading the Mustangs to a perfect 33-0 record and an SPC title.
During the summer AAU circuit, Johnson teamed up with fellow Tech signee Kelly Mora to help lead CY Fair Elite to the 2022 EYBL Nike National Championship.
In 23 games this season, Johnson is averaging 16.1 points. The guard has helped lead the Mustangs to an impressive 20-4 record and nine straight wins.
With Johnson's nomination, the Lady Raiders have now had a McDonalds All-America nominee in back-to-back seasons, as freshman Bailey Maupin was nominated for the game a season ago.
Johnson signed with the Lady Raiders back in November, joining Mora and Arizona product Achol Magot in the Lady Raiders 2023 signing day class.
Sitting at 13-3 overall, the Lady Raiders return to action Wednesday night when they host No. 19 Oklahoma. Tip-off from United Supermarkets Arena is set for 7 p.m.
