March 22, 2023 | Women's Soccer
LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech soccer star Charlotte Teeter has been named a recipient of the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship in recognition of her accomplishments academically, on the playing field and in the community, Texas Tech Athletics announced Wednesday.
Â
A member of Red Raider soccer program from 2018-22, Teeter was one of 21 female fall sport athletes nationwide to receive the $10,000 scholarship. The NCAA awards up to 126 postgraduate scholarships annually. The scholarships are awarded to student-athletes who are at least in their final year of intercollegiate athletics competition.
Â
"Thanks to the NCAA Postgraduate scholarship, I am thrilled to pursue my graduate degree in Business Administration," Teeter said. "I am hopeful that through the Rawls College of Business' M.B.A. program, I will further extend my personal and professional management skills.
Â
"I will be forever impressed and blessed by the NCAA's intentionality to empower student-athletes to pursue their dreams. Their support for their athletes goes far beyond just sport and the NCAA Postgraduate scholarship is a perfect representation of that. No words are enough to express my gratitude for this incredible opportunity and blessing."
Â
The Alpharetta, Georgia native was a five-year starter under head coach Tom Stone, where she was named a two-time Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week selection and five-time all-academic team honoree. The midfielder graduated in December of 2021 with her bachelors degree in marketing and is currently pursuing her graduate degree in business administration. Â Â
Â
"It's fitting that Charlotte has earned this prestigious academic award in her final year of grad school," head coach Tom Stone said. "She has always been such an exemplary student athlete is every sense of the phrase. Red Raider Nation is incredibly well represented by Charlotte Teeter as she enters the real world work place."
Â
The one-time non-renewable scholarships of $10,000 are awarded three times a year corresponding to each sport season (fall, winter and spring). Each sports season there are 21 scholarships available for men and 21 scholarships available for women for use in an accredited graduate program.
Â
Student-athletes must have performed with distinction as a varsity team member in the sport in which the student-athlete is being nominated. The degree of the student-athlete's athletics achievement will be weighed in conjunction with academic performance, institutional involvement, and volunteer community service.
