Tech earns draw with North Texas

DENTON, Texas – Texas Tech earned a 0-0 draw against North Texas in their second match of the spring season Saturday afternoon at the Mean Green Soccer Stadium.
Unlike the first spring match of the season where Tech squared off against ACU in three 30-minute periods, the Red Raiders and Mean Green went toe-to-toe in a traditional two 45-minute halves match.
It marked the first spring match with new assistant coach and goalkeeper's leader Blair Quinn. Under Quinn's direction, Madison White did not relinquish a goal in the 90-minute affair.
After a scoreless opening period, the Red Raiders amped up its offense, seeing several opportunities to find a goal late. Olivia Draguicevich kicked off the frenzy after firing a header off a cross from Macy Blackburn that fell wide.
Storie Sexton and Kaitlyn Giametta both looked to break the scoreless streak with back-to-back shot attempts that deflected by the North Texas goalie. As the match came down the wire, again a cross from Macy Blackburn resulted in a header, this time by Hannah Anderson, that fell wide.
