Aberg named Ben Hogan Award Semifinalist

The 2022 winner was among the 10 semifinalists announced Monday
FORT WORTH, Texas – After winning the award in 2022, Texas Tech senior and top-ranked amateur Ludvig Aberg has been named a finalist for the 2023 Ben Hogan Award presented by PNC Bank.
Aberg is joined on the list by Texas A&M's Sam Bennett, Adrien Dumont de Chassart of Illinois, North Carolina's David Ford, Nick Gabrelcik of North Florida, North Carolina's Austin Greaser, Christo Lamprecht of Georgia Tech, Pepperdine's William Mouw, Gordon Sargent of Vanderbilt and Stanford's Michael Thorbjornsen.
The 2022 Ben Hogan Award winner, Aberg will look to join 2023 Masters Champion John Rahm as the only players in the awards 33-year history to repeat. Previous Hogan Award winners include Sahith Theegala (2020, Pepperdine), Viktor Hovland (2019, Oklahoma State), Rahm (2015, 2016, Arizona State) and Patrick Cantlay (2012, UCLA).
Aberg is currently ranked as the No. 2 individual player in the most recent GolfStat Rankings and is the top-ranked player in both the PGA TOUR U and WAGR polls.
The senior will look to defend his individual title at next week's 2023 Big 12 Championships hosted by Prairie Dunes Golf Club in Hutchinson, Kansas.
