Tech men jump to No. 2 in latest USTFCCCA rankings

The Red Raiders crack the top-3 for this first time this outdoor season
NEW ORLEANS – The Texas Tech men's track and field team jumped to No. 2 in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) rankings released Monday afternoon. Last week, Tech was ranked No.4.
Tech moves inside the top-2 outdoor rankings for the first time since 2019 – national championship winning season where TTU was ranked No. 1 all year.
The Red Raiders set two national leading marks this past weekend in Florida at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational. Terrence Jones clocked a world leading time of 9.91 (1.0) in the 100m dash while Caleb Dean went 48.47 in the 400m hurdles.
Overall, Tech boasts three national leaders, with the other being Zach Bradford in the pole vault with a mark of 5.86m (19 – 2 ¾). When it comes to top-5 marks, Tech holds six and nine top-10 marks.
