LAKE WHITNEY, Texas – Incoming Texas Tech freshman Price Hill used a strong final round 69 (-3) to win the 97th edition of the Texas Junior Amateur hosted by the Whitney Bluff Resort and Golf Club.

After firing an opening round 67 (-5) on Monday, Hill entered Wednesday third and final round five-shots back at +1 overall.
Â
The Boerne native shook off an early bogey on the second hole and used birdies on three and five to card a one-under front-nine 35 that brought the Texan back to even par for the week.
Â
On the final nine, Hill completed the comeback, using a bogey-free 34 to surge to the top of the Texas State Junior leaderboard.
Â
In the end, Hill won the event by just a shot over Colin Leonard.
Â
Hill makes up one-third of Tech's strong 2023 signing class that also includes top-world amateur Tim Widemeyer and fellow Texan Ben Gregg.

The three Red Raider incoming freshman and North Texas transfer Vicente Marzilio will combined with a strong returning core highlighted by Calum Scott, Tyran Snyders and Jack Wall to form the 2023-24 Red Raider men's golf roster.
Â
Just last week, the Red Raiders announced the 2023 Fall schedule that includes four events.
