Anderson, Williams earn Big 12 Weekly Honors

The forward (Williams) earned Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, while Anderson added Defensive Player of the Week
LUBBOCK, Texas – Fresh off a perfect 2-0 week, and after being named to the College Soccer News National Player of the Week and to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the week respectively, forward Ashleigh Williams (Offensive Player of the Week) and Hannah Anderson (Defensive Player of the Week) each took home weekly Big 12 Conference honors, the conference announced Wednesday.
A native of Allen, Williams, scored three of Tech's four goals on the week, including both goals in Sunday's 2-0 win over Baylor. Williams got the Red Raiders off to a strong 1-0 start Thursday, when she buried a rebound right in front of the UT net for her career-best 10th goal of the season.

On Sunday, Williams took her game to another level, scoring both goals in the Red Raiders 2-0 win over the Bears.

The two-goal performance was Williams' eight career multiple goal game, and the Red Raiders are now 18-0-0 when she scores in a match.
Williams took home Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season.Â

Tech's second weekly honoree, Anderson, delivered when Tech needed her most on Thursday, burying a Macy Blackburn free-kick service with one-second remaining to power Tech to its fourth win over UT in the last six matchups.

Anderson also helped anchor a Red Raider backline that held the potent Texas offense that had score nearly 40 goals on the season to just one goal.

On Sunday in her 84th career match and start, Anderson recorded a pair of shots and helped the Red Raiders close out their sixth shutout of the season.
It's the second career Defensive Player of the Week honors for Anderson.

The two Red Raiders were joined by UCFs Jessica McCullen (Freshman of the Week) and Caroline Deltsle (Goalkeeper of the Week) on the weekly Big 12 awards.

Williams, Anderson and the No. 14 ranked Red Raiders return to action Thursday night when they welcome Oklahoma to the John Walker Soccer Complex. First kick is set for 7 p.m.
