Four Red Raiders Earn United Soccer Coaches All-Region

Led by Defender Macy Blackburn (First Team) the Red Raiders placed one player on each of the four teams
LUBBOCK, Texas – Highlighted by Defender Macy Blackburn's selection to the first team, four different Red Raiders earned All-Midwest Region honors Tuesday the United Soccer Coaches Association announced.
A native of Keller and the 2024 Big 12 Defender of the Year, Blackburn earned First Team All-Region honors for the second straight season.
The all-time leader in assists in program history and the only player in program history with multiple double-digit assist seasons, Blackburn was a unanimous All-Big 12 First Team selection after being named the Big 12s Defender of the year. The First Team All-Midwest selection for Blackburn marks the second-straight season the defender has taken home First Team All-Region honors.
This season Blackburn scored twice and had 10 assists in 19 games played and 18 starts.
Tech's second honoree was midfielder Peyton Parsons.
Parsons, who shined in her junior season after scoring just once coming into 2024, broke out this season scoring nine times enroute to earning her First Team All-Big 12 Honors for the first time in her career.
In addition to scoring nine times, Parsons added five assists in 2024, helping the Red Raiders reach 45 goals for the second straight season.
The Red Raiders third honoree was defender Cassie Taylor. One of the anchors of a Tech backline that allowed just 11 regular season goals and 18 total goals, Taylor helped the backline record 12 clean sheets over the 22 matches this season. Taylor, who tallied 18, 90-minute performances played nearly 1900 minutes (1883) of action this season and earned Second Team All-Big 12 honors.
Last but certainly not least for the Red Raiders was forward Ashleigh Williams.
One of the most prolific goal scorers in program history, Williams earned All-Region honors for the second straight year. A three-time All-Big 12 selection, Williams concluded her career with the Scarlett and Black with 37 total goals and seven assists. Her 81 total points are the fourth most in school history while her 37 goals are also the fourth most in school history.
The Red Raiders closed another successful season in 2024, winning 15 matches for the second-consecutive season. With the 15 wins in 2024, Tech has now won 31 matches the last two seasons overall and 16 Big 12 conference matches.
