No. 9 Red Raiders tied for 10th at Valspar Collegiate

PALM CITY, Fla. — With two rounds in the books at the 2024 Valspar Collegiate, the No. 9 Texas Tech men's golf team finds itself tied for 10th on Monday among a loaded 16-team field at the annual tournament hosted at Floridian National Golf Club. The Red Raiders are knotted with South Florida on the team leaderboard after both programs carded an 11-over-par over their first 36 holes.Â
Three Red Raiders sit in a tie for 27th place, as Charlie DeLong, Calum Scott and Tyran Snyders each finished the day 2-over-par. Scott posted a team-best 1-under-par 70 during round two, rising 25 spots on the individual leaderboard as a result, while DeLong and Snyders both shot 1-over-par 72s in each of their first two rounds. Â
Baard Skogen started strong in round one, including a stretch of three straight birdies on holes 14, 15 and 16 that aided an even-par 71 first round. The senior cooled down as the day progressed, finding himself 6-over-par after a 6-over-par 77 second round. Matthew Comegys sits five shots behind Skogen at 11-over-par, though he ended his day on a high note with three straight birdies.Â
The Red Raiders will look to make up ground during the tournament's third and final round, which is set to tee off at 8:30 a.m. ETÂ (7:30 a.m. CT).Â
