DeLong, Snyders lead No. 12 Tech at Big 12 Championship

TRINITY, Texas — Despite a pair of 1-under-par 71 cards from Charlie DeLong and Tyran Snyders and a respectable 2-over-par round three team score, the No. 12 Texas Tech men's golf team finds itself in a tie for ninth place after Tuesday's action at the Big 12 Championship. The Red Raiders sit 13-over-par after 54 holes, which included a 10-over first round, with the final round set for Wednesday morning at Whispering Pines Golf Club.Â
DeLong — who led the Red Raiders with an impressive 4-under-par 68 in round two — continued his rock-solid play with a bogey-free round three, amassing 17 pars and one birdie, placing the junior in a tie for 19th on the individual leaderboard at 2-over-par. Teammate Tyran Snyders is also tied for 19th place as he's had a consistent tournament recording scores of 73, 74 and 71. His round three 1-under 71 featured birdies on three of his first five holes, which earned the senior his lowest round of the week.Â
The three remaining Red Raiders in action on Tuesday — Matthew Comegys, Calum Scott and Vicente Marzilio — all carded 2-over-par 74s to round out Tech's round-three scores. Comegys is currently 3-over-par on the week and sits in a tie for 25th after starting the day in a tie for 12th while Scott currently sits in a tie for 43rd. Marzilio made his Big 12 Championship debut after being substituted into Tech's lineup before round three.
The Big 12 Championship will wrap up on Wednesday starting at 8 a.m. C.T. The Red Raiders are slated to tee off their final round off of the 10th tee between 8:20 and 9 a.m.
