Where the Red Raiders finished in NCAA Stat Rankings

LUBBOCK, Texas – Monday night's College Football Playoff National Championship officially closed the book on the 2024 football season. With that, the NCAA statistical rankings are now finalized with Texas Tech finishing in the top 10 of several categories.
The Red Raiders boasted one of the nation's top offenses in Joey McGuire's third season, finishing in the FBS for scoring at 37.6 points per game. That average ranked ninth all-time in program history as it was Texas Tech's highest scoring clip since 2016 when the Red Raiders lit up scoreboards to the tune of 43.7 points per game under former head coach Kliff Kingsbury and quarterback Patrick Mahomes II.
Texas Tech was also ninth in the country for both total offense per game (462.7 yards) and passing offense (296.7 yards). Junior quarterback Behren Morton ended the year eighth individually in passing yards per game after averaging 277.9 yards a contest through the air. He was also 16th nationally for both passing touchdowns (27) and total passing yards (3,335) as well as 28th in points responsible for per game (14.2).
That's not to mention Texas Tech's success on the ground behind all-time leading rusher Tahj Brooks, who concluded his tenure in scarlet and black ranked third in the FBS for rushing yards per game at 136.8 yards a contest. Brooks, who did not play in Texas Tech's appearance at the AutoZone Liberty Bowl, was eighth with 1,505 total rushing yards, making him only the third Big 12 rusher in history and the first Red Raider with multiple 1,500-yard seasons in a career.
On the defensive side, Jacob Rodriguez was among the nation's top linebackers as his 127 total tackles ranked tied for seventh in the FBS. Rodriguez, who was the Big 12 leader for total tackles as well as solo tackles per game, recorded the most tackles in a season by a Red Raider since Lawrence Flugence set the NCAA FBS record with 193 stops during the 2002 campaign.
