Shulze makes D1 Baseball Top-50 1B List

LUBBOCK, Texas – As part of their continuing coverage leading up to opening day on Friday, Feb. 14, D1Baseball has begun its top-50 lists by position, and Texas Tech infielder Peyton Shulze was tabbed the No. 27 first baseman in the country by the publication.

A transfer from Cal, Shulze has played in 152 career games over his freshman season at Long Beach State (2022) before he spent the last two seasons (2023, 2024) at Cal. A career .283 hitter over his first three seasons, Shulze is coming off a career season in 2024 that saw the California native hit .323 with 10 home runs, 59 RBIs and 21 doubles.

During his 106 games played at Cal, Shulze started 105, hitting 17 home runs and driving in 98 runs.

In addition to his prowess at the plate, Shulze has also shined in the field, as the versatile infielder and outfielder has made just 15 errors in over 1060 putouts.

Shulze and the Red Raiders open the 2025 season on Feb. 14 when they head to No. 6 North Carolina for a three-game series. First pitch from Chapel Hill is set for 3 p.m. (CT).
