Red Raiders' second round suspended due to darkness

PAUMA VALLEY, Calif. – The Texas Tech men's golf team, scheduled for 36 holes of golf on Monday at the Pauma Valley Invitational, will resume its second round at 7:30 a.m. PDT. Officials halted play due to darkness with players on the course who had anywhere from one to four holes remaining to complete their respective second rounds.
Texas Tech was led by Calum Scott on Monday. The senior carded an impressive 7-under-par 64 in his opening round, which was his lowest single round since his sophomore season. As scores held at the end of the evening, Scott was in second place among the 84 in action.Â
As a team, the Red Raiders sat in seventh place when play was halted. Texas Tech fired a 5-under-par 279 in the first round and has a collective 3-over-par in the incomplete second round.
Once teams complete the second round on Tuesday morning, they will observe a brief intermission and begin round three with a repairing shotgun start at 10 a.m. PDT.
