Texas Tech tops the Big 12 with six players on the list
LUBBOCK, Texas – D1Softball announced its list of the top 100 players heading into the 2026 season. The Red Raiders had six names on the list, most in the Big 12.
NiJaree Canady (1), Mihyia Davis (21), Taylor Pannell (32), Kaitlyn Terry (41), Mia Williams (65) and Lauren Allred (76) all made the list for Texas Tech.
Canady was named the No. 1 player by Softball America yesterday and has been in that spot most of her career.
Allred is the only name that was not on Softball America's list yesterday. Allred led the Red Raiders in RBI last season with 54 which ranked seventh most in program history for a single season while also hitting .357 with 65 hits including 10 doubles and nine home runs.
