LUBBOCK, Texas – Texas Tech Softball is coming off its best season in program history and the excitement and expectations around the team continue to build heading into the 2026 campaign. Fans will be able to get an early look at the team as the Red Raider Club will be hosting its inaugural 'First Pitch Dinner' for softball on January 30 beginning at 6 p.m. at Cagle Steaks and BBQ.
Head coach Gerry Glasco, entering his second season, will speak to the fans about the excitement of the upcoming season as Tech earned its first-ever No. 1 in Softball America's Preseason Poll. The Red Raiders also have eight players in Softball America's Top 100 Players list, most in the country, and are coming off a National Runner-Up finish in 2025.
The country's best player, NiJaree Canady, returns for her senior season and is joined by fellow returners and All-Big 12 First Teamers Mihyia Davis and Alana Johnson. The Red Raiders also welcomed in the No. 1 transfer portal class in the country this offseason, picking up three All-Americans in Mia Williams, Taylor Pannell and Jasmyn Burns as well as All-Conference performers in Jackie Lis, Kaitlyn Terry, Desirae Spearman and Lagi Quiroga.
This Red Raider roster is arguably the deepest in the country and will look to make another deep postseason run.
Complimentary admission to the event includes dinner and there will be a cash bar serving beer and wine to those in attendance. This event is expected to sellout so be sure to RSVP quickly using the link here.
