Canady, Davis and Pannell named D1Softball Preseason All-Americans
LUBBOCK, Texas – D1Softball announced its preseason All-Americans ahead of the 2026 season on Wednesday. Texas Tech is represented by NiJaree Canady, Mihyia Davis and Taylor Pannell.
Canady and Davis earned first team honors while Pannell was named to the second team. Canady and Davis earned preseason All-American honors from Softball America earlier this season as well.
Tech is ranked in the top two in the country by most softball media outlets as the team continues to build hype coming off its best season ever in 2025.
Canady and Davis enter their final years of collegiate softball and their second with the Red Raiders. Canady was named the NFCA and Big 12 Pitcher of the Year last season while Davis was named to the All-Big 12 First Team and set a new single-season program record for hits (93) and runs (66) last year.
Pannell joins the Red Raiders after three seasons at Tennessee where she earned All-American honors last year and enters her junior season.
Tech will play its first game of the season on February 5 against McNeese in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
