March 24, 2026 | Men's Golf
PALM CITY, Fla. — No. 10 Texas Tech captured its first team title of the season on Tuesday, overcoming a two-shot deficit to No. 1 Auburn to win the Valspar Collegiate Invitational at Floridian National Golf Club.
The Red Raiders surged past the nation's top-ranked team in the final round, ultimately winning by six shots over Auburn and finishing at a tournament-record 45-under-par 807. The victory came against one of the strongest fields of the season, featuring five top-10 teams and 10 programs ranked inside the top 25. Texas Tech also finished ahead of third-place No. 6 Texas by 11 shots and fourth-place No. 7 Arkansas by 12.
The Red Raiders' 54-hole total of 807 (45-under) set a new Valspar Collegiate Invitational record, surpassing the previous mark of 816 (36-under) set by Texas in 2025. It marks Texas Tech's first team victory since the All-American Collegiate (March 18-19, 2024) and comes after back-to-back runner-up finishes at The Prestige and The Hayt earlier this spring.
Ben Gregg led the Red Raiders with a career-best finish, tying for third at 13-under 200. He recorded back-to-back career-low rounds versus par with 5-under 66s in rounds two and three. Gregg tied for the tournament lead with 18 birdies and ranked second in par-4 scoring at 7-under.
Texas Tech's depth proved decisive, as all five players in the lineup finished under par for the tournament.
Tim Wiedemeyer finished one shot behind Gregg at 12-under 201, tying for seventh. After opening with an even-par 71, he rebounded with rounds of 64 and 66. Wiedemeyer tied for the fewest bogeys in the tournament with just two.
Connor Graham tied for 13th at 9-under 204, while Brady McHenry finished tied for 23rd at 6-under 207. Adam Bresnu rounded out the lineup tied for 30th at 4-under 209.
Texas Tech closed with a final-round 17-under 267 to secure the comeback victory.
The Red Raiders return to action April 13-14 at the Mountaineer Invitational for their final regular-season tournament.
