Wong joined the Texas Tech volleyball staff as an assistant coach in January 2020.

In 2022, Wong helped lead the Red Raiders to a 16-win season, highlighted by sweeps against Kansas State on Sept. 28 and Kansas on Nov. 25. Texas Tech also started the year out to an undefeated 8-0, which was the best start to a season since 2014. On Oct. 2, the Red Raider volleyball team set a program record in attendance against Texas when 6,037 fans showed up to the match, making it the largest crowd in the Big 12 all year.

Wong also helped coach two All-Big 12 honorees in Kenna Sauer (First Team) and Brooke Kanas (Second Team), while Sauer also earned her second AVCA All-Region accolade. Graduate senior KJ Adams also notched her second-consecutive CoSIDA Academic All-America honor and 10 Red Raiders were named to the Academic All-Big 12 team.

Wong helped the Red Raiders to one of their most successful seasons after the team earned its first NCAA post-season bid since 2001 after going 17-12 in the regular season with an RPI of 38, also guiding Tech to its first top-10 win since 1996 when the Red Raiders reverse swept No. 9 Baylor in Waco on Oct. 1, 2021.

Wong aided multiple Red Raiders to conference and national accolades in 2021, highlighted by outside hitter Kenna Sauer, who earned AVCA Southwest All-Region and All-Big 12 First Team honors. KJ Adams garnered CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, making her the seventh Academic All-American in program history, while Karrington Jones was also named to the All-Big 12 Second Team for the first time in her career.

As a team, the 2021 Red Raiders led the Big 12 in total kills (1,456), total digs (1,701) and total assists (1,307) while finishing second in total blocks (279), third in hitting percentage (.225) and third in digs per set (14.66). The Red Raiders 279 blocks were the most by the program since 2011.

In Wong's first full season as an assistant coach, the Red Raiders collected nine wins, five of which came in conference play, including the team's first defeat against Oklahoma for the first time since 2015 and first sweep of the Sooners since 2005. The Red Raiders also tallied their first ranked road win since 2018 when they knocked off No. 12 Iowa State in five sets on Oct. 3. Two Red Raiders took home All-Big 12 Second Team honors in 2020-21, as sophomore Caitlin Dugan and senior transfer Samantha Sanders earned their first All-Big 12 accolades. Sanders finished the season with 305 kills, which ranked 29th in the nation and fourth in the Big 12.

Prior to Tech, Wong served four seasons as an assistant coach at Bradley. Before joining the Braves, he was the Director of Volleyball Operations and Video Coordinator at Tennessee (2015) and previously worked as a volunteer assistant at South Florida (2014).

Before helping three Braves to All-Missouri Valley Conference honors in 2019, he guided Bradley to improved overall and MVC win totals in his first three seasons, marking the first time since 1992-94 that BU increased its overall and conference victories in three-straight years. He helped develop four first-team All-MVC performers during his tenure, along with the 2018 MVC Freshman of the year, with the four first teamers surpassing Bradley's total from 2004-2015.

With Wong's direction, Bradley's 2018 season resulted in the most successful season since 2001 with the Braves capping a 24-9 campaign by reaching the second round of the NIVC. Bradley posted the second-largest win improvement in the country in 2018 and finished third in the MVC regular-season standings at 13-5. Wong helped Bradley rank second in the nation in digs per set in 2018, while the Braves also boasted their best team attack percentage dating back to 2003 in addition to serving up the most aces in over two decades (1997).

The 2017 squad, which was the first double-digit win team on The Hilltop since 2013, finished the year with the highest attack percentage since 2011, best kills per set average in over a decade (2006) at 13.22, best blocks per set average since 2012 and ranked 11th in the nation in digs per set with the team's highest average (18.21) since rally scoring was introduced in 2001.

In his first season with the Braves, he helped Bradley improve its overall and MVC win total in the same season for the first time since 2013. In addition, Bradley's combined road and neutral victories were the team's best since that same 2013 campaign.

Thanks to his leadership and dedication on and off the court, Wong was recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association as a top Thirty Under 30 Coach in 2019. The annual award honors up-and-coming coaching talent at all levels of the sport under the age of 30. In addition, he was also a 2016 AVCA Diversity Award winner and is also a member of the AVCA Assistant Coaches Committee.

No stranger to the USA Volleyball pipeline, Wong spent the 2019 summer coaching with the USA Junior National Team at the FIVB U20 World Championships held in Aguascalientes & Leon, Mexico. He served as the team's technical assistant coach and helped the team to a Top-10 finish. Wong also served as the Technical Coordinator and Assistant Coach for the USA Women's National Team at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, this summer as well.

Wong has also served as a consultant technical coordinator for the USA Women's National Team for the 2019 FIVB Women's World Cup, technical coordinator for the 2018 USA Junior National Team that competed at the U20 NORCECA Continental Championships, as well as being on staff with the USA Collegiate National Team program (2017 Domestic training team- Minneapolis & 2016 China Tour). He also served as a technical assistant at the USA Women's National Team tryouts the past four years.

In 2021, Wong also helped lead the USA Junior National Team to a top-5 finish at the U20 World Championships, making it the best finish in history by a USA U20 team and the highest placing by a non-European team at the World Championships. The following year, Wong led the Florida Women's International Junior Team to a silver-medal outing at the HP All-Stars Championships in Tulsa, Okla.

In addition to his USA Volleyball experience, Wong has been heavily involved with the Florida Region of USA Volleyball. He served as an assistant coach for the region's High Performance Team, Team Florida (2014-2018), and its professional team, Florida Wave (2015-2016). His crowning achievement with both programs came in 2016, when the Team Florida Girl's International Youth team took home the gold medal, while the Florida Wave took home the gold medal and the $10,000 championship prize at the 2016 PVL Championships. Wong has also earned a silver medal (2015) and a bronze medal (2017) at the USAV High Performance Championships.

Prior to joining Bradley's staff, Wong served as the Director of Volleyball Operations & Video Coordinator at the University of Tennessee. He was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the volleyball program, as well as responsible for video breakdown/analysis, statistical analysis, opponent scouting, and he was also the camp coordinator.

Before his stint at Tennessee, Wong was the Volunteer Assistant at the University of South Florida under Head Coach, Courtney Draper. During his time at USF, Wong was primarily responsible for video/statistical analysis, scouting reports, on-court training of setters, passers, and attackers, as well as being the co-camp director.

Wong was a four-year letterwinner at Lindenwood University, where the setter/libero was a part of the Lions' 2009 NAIA National Championship team and also won a pair of MAMVIC West Conference Championship titles. He earned degrees in athletic training and exercise science, as well as minors in psychology and strength & conditioning from Lindenwood, before going on to earn a master's in sport & fitness studies from Florida International University in 2014.

As a certified and licensed graduate assistant athletic trainer during his time at FIU, he worked primarily with the women's indoor and beach volleyball programs, under the direction of former Olympian, Rita Buck-Crockett.

Wong has also coached at the club and high school levels as well. He has had stints with K2 Volleyball club (Louisville, Tenn.), Tampa Bay ONE (Tampa), Rita Crockett Volleyball Academy (Miami), St. Charles Stars VBC (St. Charles, Mo.), Francis Howell Central High School (St. Charles, Mo.), High Performance St. Louis volleyball club (St. Louis), and Florida State University Schools (Tallahassee).
