The pair is expected to hold down the No. 1 and 2 positions for the team this season.
In other women's tennis news, Noel Ruiz and Sonia Orellano were selected as the team's Players of the Week. The doubles combo won two of their three matches this weekend at the Hurricane Invitational Tennis Tournament in Tulsa, Okla. The pair defeated Cameron Stoudt and Erin Pachnik 9-8 (7-5) to finish in sixth place in the Flight "2" doubles competition. Ruiz also managed to win two of her three singles matches in the Flight "4" singles portion of the tournament.
"Overall it was a good tournament for us," Brown said. "We came away with one more victory than we had last weekend which isn't too bad considering the injuries and illnesses we had to deal with this week."
The women's tennis team will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Waco for the Baylor Invitational Tournament.
