Texas Tech Volleyball Falls to Baylor 3-0

WACO, Texas - The Texas Tech Volleyball team lost to the Baylor Bears in three games, 15-8, 15-8, 15-7 in front of 187 fans at the Ferrell Center tonight. Tech goes to 11-8 on the season and 1-6 in the Big 12 while Baylor improves to 16-4 and 4-3 in the conference.
The Bears out hit the Raiders .222(54-22-144) to .167 (44-20-144). Lori Garber's 10 kills and Skydra Orzen's 14 digs led Tech. Jenny Donohoo, Garber and Ann Romjue all recorded double digit digs.
Tech fell behind 4-0 early in the first game and never recovered. The second game started out closer as Tech used a taller front line to block Baylor attempts. Through the first two games Tech registered four blocks, led by Romjue and Colleen Smith with two apiece. However Baylor responded to take control later in the game and come away with a 15-8 win. Tech had a 6-4 lead midway into the third game but Baylor came back after a timeout to score four consecutive points and seize control of the game, winning 15-7.
A major factor in the match was 14 service errors committed by Texas Tech compared to Baylor's five.
