LUBBOCK, Texas - It was business as usual Monday as Texas Tech returned to the football practice field for the first time after knocking off Colorado 13-10 on Homecoming Day at Jones Stadium.
As with Monday?s past, Texas Tech went through a light workout in shorts and helmets to get back into the flow of things after Saturday?s Big 12 Conference win. The Red Raiders began briefly implementing their game plan for Baylor.
?We had a pretty good practice tonight,? Tech head coach Spike Dykes said. ?We overcame some soreness and stiffness from Saturday?s game. Our guys are a little beat up, but we looked good tonight.?
Tech, tied atop the Big 12 South with Texas and Texas A&M, will switch gears on Tuesday and practice on natural turf.
?We haven?t played on grass since the Louisiana-Lafayette game,? Dykes said, referring to the Red Raiders 38-17 road win on Sept. 11. ?It will be a little different, because we haven?t played on it in little over a month.?
Texas Tech (3-3, 2-1) and Baylor (1-5, 0-3) are set to kick off Saturday at 6 p.m. at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco. There will be no television for the game.
