Men's Cross Country Places Ninth

STILLWATER, Okla. - The Texas Tech men's cross country team finished ninth out of 14 teams in the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree at the Oklahoma State Cross Country Course in Stillwater this morning. The Red Raiders scored a total of 223 points. The Arkansas Razorbacks, ranked No. 1 in the country, finished first with a score of 27 and Division II national champion Adams State (Colorado) was second with 72.
David Leigh led the men, finishing in 38th place with a time of 26:13. He was followed by Jesse Williams who finished 45th in a time of 26:33, and Ryan Cruz (53rd, 26:45). Rounding out the scoring for the men were Adrian Dodds, (62nd, 27:07) and Samson Ngetich (76th, 27:44).
The men finished behind Big 12 opponents Baylor and Oklahoma State at the meet. Oklahoma State's men are currently ranked No. 24 in the country and finished fourth with a score of 131. Baylor finished 6th with a score of 183. Another Big 12 school, Oklahoma, finished 13th with a score of 312.
The men will be back in action next Saturday as they host a home meet, the Red Raider Classic, at Mae Simmons Park.
