LUBBCOK, Texas - It was business as usual Monday as Texas Tech returned to the football practice field for the first time after upsetting 5th-ranked Texas A&M, 21-19, Saturday.
In typical fashion, the Red Raiders worked for just over an hour in shorts and head gear, working out the kinks from the conference-opening win and implementing early stages of the game plan for this week?s Big 12 game at Oklahoma State.
?We had a good Monday night. Everybody?s frisky, but sore. We had a lot of bruise medicine out there, ? head coach Spike Dykes said in reference to Saturday?s physical contest against Texas A&M.
With the first Big 12 road game of the season approaching, Dykes and his staff have quickly turned the focus toward Oklahoma State and the remainder of the schedule.
?We have to get ready for an Oklahoma State team that is really going to be hard to beat,? Dykes said. ?They have lost two road games to top-ranked opponents and haven?t been at home for some time (Sept. 11), so I?m sure they?re excited to see us coming.
?We set our goals about what we want to accomplish in the conference, and I?m sure Oklahoma State did too,? he said. ?They have their backs to the wall a little bit, so we had better be ready to play. This is an important game for both of us.?
Texas Tech (2-2, 1-0) and Oklahoma State (2-2, 0-1) are set to kick off Saturday at 7 p.m. at Lewis Field on the OSU campus in Stillwater. There will be no television for the game.
