LUBBOCK, Texas - Calling it a typical Tuesday practice, Texas Tech head football coach Spike Dykes said the Red Raiders were sluggish as preparations continued for Saturday?s Big 12 Conference game at Oklahoma State.
?It was just medium-rare,? Dykes said following the workout. ?We are still a little tired and sore from Saturday, but we need to start percolating a little better tomorrow and pick it up.?
The Red Raiders practiced for just under two hours on the artificial surface at Jones Stadium. After brief individual position work the remainder of the workout was devoted to implementing the game plan for the Cowboys. Special teams work closed the practice.
?Tuesday is a hard 24 hours for our players,? Dykes said. ?We practice on Monday night, then it?s a tough class day and practice again Tuesday afternoon.?
Texas Tech (2-2, 1-0) has won four consecutive games in the series, which dates back to 1935. Oklahoma State?s (2-2, 0-1) last victory in the series was in 1989 in a game played in Tokyo, Japan.
Kickoff for Saturday?s matchup is set for 7 p.m. at Lewis Field on the Oklahoma State campus. The Cowboys have not lost at home this season and have won four consecutive games at home dating back to late last season.
There will be no television for the game, but Red Raider fans can follow the action on the All Sports Radio Network. The game will also be broadcast in Spanish by KXTQ in Lubbock. Both the Spanish and English broadcasts can also be heard on the Word Wide Web at www.texastech.com.
