LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech head football coach Spike Dykes liked what he saw Wednesday as the Red Raiders continued to prepare for Saturday?s Big 12 matchup at Oklahoma State.
?We had a much better day today. We picked it up from Tuesday,? Dykes said. ?I really liked our intensity level. Everything was pretty good.?
Texas Tech (2-2, 1-0) practiced for just less than two hours on the artificial turf at Jones Stadium. The major emphasis, as could be expected, was on refining the game plan for Oklahoma State (2-2, 0-1).
?We got a little better today than we were yesterday,? Dykes said. ?Tomorrow we have to put everything together and have an even better day. Once you get to Thursday the ball is rolling pretty fast down that hill, so we need to be sure we get all our `i?s? dotted and `t?s? crossed.?
The Red Raiders will practice Thursday and Friday in Lubbock before boarding a charter jet for Stillwater Friday evening.
Kickoff for Saturday?s game is set for 7 p.m. at Lewis Field on the Oklahoma State campus. There will be no television for the game, but the game can be heard on the All Sports Radio Network and on the Internet at www.texastech.com.
Oklahoma State has not played at home since beating Tulsa Sept. 11 and Texas Tech has not played on the road since winning at Louisiana-Lafayette the same day.
