LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech?s 21-19 victory over Texas A&M last Saturday on FOX Sports Net was the most-watched college football game on cable television this season in the Dallas-Ft. Worth, Houston and San Antonio markets, according to Nielsen Media Research data and an announcement by the network today.
The game received a 3.8 Nielsen household rating in Houston, a 2.9 rating in the Dallas-Ft. Worth market and a 2.8 rating in San Antonio.
FOX announced that the game achieved a 6.7 rating in Houston, 5.6 in Dallas-Ft. Worth and 4.3 in San Antonio when factoring in cable television penetration in those markets.
The network said an average audience of 63,290 households in Houston, 56,830 in Dallas-Ft. Worth and 18,700 in Houston saw the primetime telecast.
The telecast ranks as the second all-time highest rated football game on FOX Sports Net in Houston and Dallas-Ft. Worth, only behind last year?s Texas Tech-Texas game, which earned a 6.2 rating in Houston and a 3.0 in Dallas-Ft. Worth.
