LUBBOCK, Texas - Despite not using the services of its top runners, the Texas Tech women's cross country team still managed a second place finish at the Red Raider Classic cross country meet Saturday morning at Mae Simmons Park. New Mexico Highlands won the meet with an overall score of 32 . Tech finished second with a score of 52, followed by New Mexico State (59), Eastern New Mexico (84) and Wayland Baptist (124).
Tech coach David Smith opted to rest his top runners in preparation for next week's big pre-national meet in Bloomington, Ind.
