LUBBOCK, Texas - With the exception of a brief Friday walk-through, the Texas Tech football team has put the finishing touches on the game plan for Saturday?s Big 12 Conference matchup against Oklahoma.
The Red Raiders worked for about 90-minutes in shells Thursday, concentrating on Oklahoma schemes before finishing the workout with extensive work on special teams and all phases of the kicking game.
?Practice was nothing to write home about,? head coach Spike Dykes said following the practice, ?but I think the concentration and intensity was good. The kids were bouncing around.
?We spent a lot of time on the kicking game. Oklahoma has great special teams players,? Dykes said. ?I think the defense also has a better feel now for all the offense they have to get ready for.?
Texas Tech comes into the game 5-5 over and 4-3 in conference play. Oklahoma is 6-3 overall and 4-2 in the league. The Red Raiders need one more win to become bowl eligible for the seventh consecutive year and 22 Tech seniors will be playing their last game at Jones Stadium. The seniors will be honored during pregame ceremonies.
FOX Sports will televise the game to a regionally syndicated television audience. Kickoff is set for 11:38 a.m. at Jones Stadium. Tickets for the Red Raiders-Sooners matchup are available by dialing 1-888 GO BIG 12 or by stopping by the Texas Tech ticket office.
