LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech continued preparations for Saturday?s Big 12 matchup against Iowa State by turning the focus on special teams Wednesday afternoon, according to Red Raider head coach Spike Dykes.
?We really looked pretty good today,? Dykes said. ?All the walking wounded returned. We had a great practice and great weather to help us get ready for a football game.?
Starting center Kyle Sanders and defensive end Aaron Hunt returned to practice Wednesday after being briefly sidelined with injuries.
Dykes said Iowa State poses multiple problems both offensively and defensively, but felt like the preparation has been good.
?Our scout teams have done an exceptionally good job simulating Iowa State,? Dykes said. ?We have an excellent bunch of scouts who do a great job for us every week and don?t get a lot of credit for their efforts.?
The Red Raiders will continue practice Thursday afternoon at Jones Stadium. Saturday?s game will not be televised, but can be heard on the All Sports Radio Network on KKAM 1340-AM and by logging on to www.texastech.com. Spanish broadcasts of Texas Tech football games can be heard locally on Magic 93.7 and on the Texas Tech website.
