LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech head football coach Spike Dykes saw a lot of good things in Tuesday?s 90-minute practice as the Red Raiders continue preparations for Saturday?s Big 12 Conference matchup at Texas.
?This was a good practice overall,? Dykes said. ?This was a good Tuesday, a good learning day with good intensity.?
The Red Raiders finished practice as the sun went down and the weather turned cooler, but utilized every minute preparing for the 10th-ranked Longhorns.
?It?s hard to get ready for Texas,? Dykes said. ?They do so many things well. We still have a lot of learning to do before we play Saturday.?
Texas Tech enters the game with a 5-4 overall record and 4-2 mark in Big 12 play, following last Saturday?s 28-16 win over Iowa State in Jones Stadium. Texas is 8-2 and 5-1 after knocking off Oklahoma State 34-21 in Stillwater last weekend.
The Red Raiders will continue practice Wednesday afternoon at Jones Stadium. Saturday?s 6 p.m. kickoff against Texas will be nationally televised on Fox Sports Net. All Texas Tech football games can be heard on the All Sports Radio Network on KKAM 1340-AM and by logging on to www.texastech.com.
