Big 12 To Host Coaching Clinics

DALLAS, Texas - A free basketball clinic for coaches at all levels, sponsored by the Big 12 Conference, will be Saturday, May 1, 1999 at Lynch Auditorium on the campus of the University of Dallas.
Under the direction of Big 12 Basketball Consultant Bill Foster, the May 1 coaches clinic will feature coaches from Big 12 institutions located in the south. The clinic will be one-day events starting with registration at 8:15 a.m. and running through 4 p.m.
The following is the coach and specific topic he or she will be covering. Drills will be included in every coaches presentation.
Angela Lawson, Baylor - Run & Jump - Full Court Defense Bo Overton, Oklahoma - Offensive & Defensive Transition Games Jack Easley, Oklahoma State - Low Post Moves; Practice Organization Kathy Harston, Texas - Shooting (technique, drills, practice ideas) Liz Galloway, Texas A&M - "Aggie Basketball Defense" Linden Weese, Texas Tech - Half-Court Offensive System vs. All Defenses
Men's and women's basketball coaches at levels all (college, high school, grade school, youth leagues, etc.) are encouraged to attend the clinics. Space is limited to 300, which means registration will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. Additionally, the Big 12 will host another free basketball coaches clinic, April 24, at the Johnson County Community College gymnasium in Overland Park, Kan. This clinic will feature coaches from the six Big 12 schools located in the north - David Campbell (Kansas State), Terry Dunn (Colorado), Joe Holladay (Kansas), Leonard Perry (Iowa State), Randy Roth (Nebraska), and a Missouri coach to be determined.
