Huskers Hand Red Raiders Sixth Defeat

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Nebraska Cornhuskers defeated the Texas Tech Red Raiders women's tennis team 8-1, Saturday at the Athletic Training Center. Tech's only victory in the match came by default at No. 2 doubles.
The loss drops the Red Raiders Big 12 record to 1-3 (3-6 overall). Nebraska, ranked 66th nationally, moves to 1-1 in the conference (6-2 overall).
Tech's No. 2 doubles team of Zana Zlebnik and Amanda Earhart defeated Nebraska's Gina Pelazini and Amy Frisch 1-0 (default) for the Red Raiders only win. This was the first time this season that Zlebnik and Earhart and teamed together after being named All-Big 12 last year. Zlebnik had been teaming with Alenka Ovin at No. 1 doubles while Earhart teamed with Ana Serrot at No. 2 doubles compiling a 6-2 record.
The Red Raiders will be in action again on Sunday, February 28 at 9:00 am against the University of Missouri. The match will be indoors at the ATC. Admission is free.
