Men's Basketball Falls to Southwestern Louisiana

LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Reginald Poole's 27 points included two foul shots with 52 seconds remaining as Southwestern Louisiana Saturday night in a 60-56 victory over Texas Tech.
Southwestern (1-2), which committed just eight turnovers, forced 19 turnovers and had seven steals in winning for the first time and dealing Texas Tech (3-1) its first defeat.
USL trailed 28-27 at halftime and led by as many as seven points midway through the second half but needed Poole's free throws and another from Blane Harmon with six seconds clinch the victory.
Joining Poole double figures for USL was Brett Smith with 11 points. Poole and Smith also had two steals apiece.
Stan Bonewitz's 13 points and game-high 10 rebounds, along with James Ware's 11 points, led Texas Tech.
