Men's and Women's Tennis Players Win at Tournaments

BALTIMORE, Maryland - Borut Marticevic (Maribor, Slovenia) was victorous in his first-round pre-qualifiying match at the National Clay Court Championships in Baltimore, Md. Martincevic defeated Alex Howard of Richmond University in straight sets 6-2, 6-3. The second and third round of the pre-qualifier will take place tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. respectively.
In other tennis news, Alenka Ovin (Maribor, Slovenia) and Amanda Earhart (Nashville, Tenn.) advanced to the finals of the TCU tournament in Fort Worth, Texas. In their semifinal match Ovin defeated Jessika Kjellgren of TCU 7-5, 6-2, and Earhart beat Daria Zoldakova of TCU 6-3, 6-2. The final match against Ovin and Earhart was not played at coachs decision.
