LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech baseball program has announced the signings of three new players to National-Letters-of Intent head coach Larry Hays announced late Tuesday afternoon. The three athletes- shortstop Alan Marshall (Sebastopol, Calif./Santa Rosa J.C.) and righthanded pitchers Ryan Steadham (Hobbs, N.M./New Mexico J.C.) and Kevin Tracy (Lake Oswego, Ore./Santa Rosa J.C., Calif.) are all junior college transfers.
Texas Tech also lost freshman pitcher Cliff Bartosh who signed a MLB contract with the Philadelphia Phillies. The Red Raiders have lost four players- Bartosh, Michael Gargano, Cedric Hebert and Jack Wilson- to Major League Baseball contracts. The three new signees brings the total to 22 1998 Texas Tech baseball players signed including 18 junior college transfers. Eighteen of the 22 signees will attend Texas Tech in the fall.
