Texas Tech Deals Three-Game Sweep to SMU in Volleyball

DALLAS, Texas - The Texas Tech volleyball team snapped a two-match losing streak enroute to a three-game sweep of the SMU Mustangs Wednesday, 15-12, 15-13, 15-9, at Moody Coliseum. Tech improves to an overall record of 11-4 while SMU drops to 9-6. The Mustangs are coached by former Tech assistant coach Lisa Seifert.

Senior setter Lisa Hilgers collected a team-high 39 assists for the Red Raiders. Junior outside hitter Courtney Putnam tallied 17 kills for Tech.

Texas Tech continues its road trip, opening Big 12 Conference play Friday night against Missouri in Columbia. The Red Raiders wind up their road swing with a contest against Iowa State Saturday night in Ames, Iowa.
