Texas Tech Defeats Missouri in Big 12 Volleyball Conference Opener

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Texas Tech women's volleyball team needed four games (15-7, 6-15, 17-15, 15-9) to tuck away its first Big 12 Conference win of the season Friday evening in Columbia. Texas Tech improves to 12-4 overall, 1-2 in league play while Missouri drops to an 8-7 overall record, 0-3 in conference play.
Tech middle blockers Lori Garber and Sonia Moric combined for 35 kills and eight block assists. With Missouri winning the second game of the match, it was the first time the Tigers had won a game over Tech in five matches, dating back to the 1996 season. Kristen Holmes collected 14 kills while Lisa Kilgers recorded 68 assists and 21 digs, giving her 5,000 digs in her Tech career.
The Red Raiders travel to Ames, Iowa for a Saturday evening match-up against Iowa State, beginning at 7 p.m.
