LUBBOCK, Texas - The Texas Tech men's tennis team (2-0) will look to continue their winning ways when they host the University of Arkansas-Little Rock (4-0) and #39 Arkansas (4-0) this weekend. The Red Raiders will play Arkansas-Little Rock on Saturday, February 13, at 1:30 p.m. at the Nautilus Courts in Lubbock. The Nautilus facility is located at 9000 Memphis Avenue. The men return to the Athletic Training Center on Sunday, February 14, when they play the Arkansas in a match that is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m.
This weekend's matches against two undefeated teams should provide an early test to see how well the 1999 team is progressing.
"Both matches will tell us a lot about our team," Director of Tennis Tim Siegel said. "Arkansas-Little Rock and Arkansas are both quality opponents as shown by their records. I hope we can maintain the momentum that was started in our first two matches. It will be exciting weekend of tennis."
Last season the Red Raiders traveled to Arkansas to face both teams. The team defeated UALR, 4-3, but dropped the match to Arkansas by the same score.
It will also be a reunion for Siegel. He was a two-time All-America and three-time Southwest Conference singles champion while competing at Arkansas from 1983-86.
Admission to all Texas Tech tennis matches is free
