LUBBOCK, Texas - Texas Tech Director of Tennis Tim Siegel announced today that Clay Estes of Amarillo, Texas, has signed a national letter of intent to play tennis for the Red Raiders next year.
Estes is the No. 1 ranked player in the state of Texas and one of the most heralded recruits to ever sign with the men's tennis team. Estes, who has been ranked top-10 nationally for his age group, was the champion of the Pineapple Bowl in Hawaii. The Pineapple Bowl consisted of the top national players in the 16-18 year-old age group. He was recruited by Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Christian University and Baylor.
"I'm ecstatic to sign Clay Estes," Siegel said. "He brings a complete game to our program and has tremendous national and pro potential. He will play immediately for us. Clay is a great guy, hard worker and comes from a solid background."
