LUBBOCK, Texas - The 28th ranked Texas Tech men's tennis team will host Oklahoma State University on Friday, April 9, at 1:30 at the Lubbock High School courts. The Red Raiders are 12-8 on the season and enjoying their highest ranking ever under Director of Tennis Tim Siegel.
Oklahoma State enters the match with a 6-6 record on the season. They are lead by No. 1 singles player Rob Howarth who holds a 6-5 mark this spring.
Texas Tech's Ryan Shupe will look to improve upon his 11-5 in dual match play. This week, he debuted in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's top-100 players poll at No. 88.
"This match is very important for our seeding in the Big 12 tournament," Siegel said. "It and the contest against Kansas next weekend will be very key. We could end up being seeded as high as 4th or as low as 6th. This is a must win situation for us."
The Lubbock High School courts are located at the corner of 14th and Ave. T. If weather does not permit the match to be played outside, it will be moved to the Athletic Training Center on the Texas Tech campus.
