Women's Golf Finishes 16th at Stanford Intercollegiate

STANFORD, Calif. - The Texas Tech University women's golf team finished 16th in the Stanford Women's Intercollegiate Tournament, completed Sunday at the par-73, 6,093-yard Stanford Golf Course.
The Red Raiders fired a final-round 27-over-par 319 and fell from a tie for 12th in the second to finish 16th. Arizona overcame a five-shot deficit to defeat host Stanford for the team title, 885-887. Arizona shot a final-round score of 5-under 287. Washington (899) finished third, Indiana (903) fourth and Pepperdine (909) and San Jose State tied for fifth. Texas A&M (929) finished 12th in the 54-hole tournament.
Jenna Daniels, with a 4-under 69, made the big push for Arizona. She tied for medalist honors at 4-under 215 with Washington's Elisha Au. Au, who shot a final-round, one-over 74, was in the lead after the first and second rounds.
Arizona's Christina Baena tied for third at 217 with Indiana's Erin Carney after an even-par 73 on Sunday. UA's Jill Gomric also shot 4-under 69 en route to Arizona's victory to tie for 11th at 223.
Individually for the Red Raiders, senior Brooke Lowrance tied for 24th at 8-over 227. She finished with a 5-over 78. Junior Jamie Vannoy, who was six shots back and only 1-over par after Saturday, skied to a 10-over 83 to finish in a tie for 37th at 11-over 230.
Red Raider sophomore Priscillia Hunt tied for 81st (244). She shot a 4-over 77 in the final round. Senior Beth Covington tied for 89th (248), while junior Heather Wrede tied for 94th (250).
